A man in Egypt saved a young boy who fell from a second-floor balcony. Video of the event shows the man rushing quickly to catch the child.

second-floor= 二樓的（位於一樓之上的樓層）rushing quickly to= 快速衝過去以做某事

As the boy fell, he hit a washing line first. The washing line slowed down his fall for a moment.

slowed down= 減緩了…的速度

This gave the man extra time to react. He caught the child safely before the boy hit the ground.

hit the ground= 撞擊地面
