Traveling with pets is getting easier across Europe because many airlines now allow small cats and dogs to fly in the passenger cabin. A recent review by travel service AirAdvisor examined the pet policies of 22 European airlines. The study found that while many carriers welcome animals on board, rules and fees vary depending on the airline and destination.

vary depending on= 視...而異;根據...有所不同

Most European airlines allow small pets in the main cabin if the animal and its carrier weigh no more than 8 kilograms together. Extra fees for in-cabin travel usually range between €35 and €250. Pets that weigh more than 8 kilograms must travel in the cargo hold, which is a special area under the aircraft for luggage and animals. However, some countries, including the UK and Australia, only allow pets to enter as separate freight cargo.

weigh no more than= 不超過;最多

Pet owners must also follow strict age and health rules. Most airlines do not allow pets younger than 12 weeks to travel, and Air France requires pets to be at least 15 weeks old for international flights. Certain dog breeds with short snouts, such as bulldogs and pugs, face additional restrictions. On the other hand, airlines like Aegean, Lufthansa, and SAS now allow pets into their airport lounges if they stay inside their carriers, while LOT Polish Airlines allows pets to roam under their owner's supervision.

On the other hand= 另一方面(用於引出對比)

Travel experts advise passengers to check all requirements carefully before booking, especially for flights involving different connecting airlines. Booking a pet's ticket early can also help owners avoid higher fees and secure space, as airlines limit how many animals are allowed on each flight.
