Train passengers in Europe will soon get a new travel experience. The train company Eurostar plans to launch new trains with two-story bars in May 2031. All passengers on board can visit the two-floor bar area.
The new trains are named Celestia, a word that means heavenly. Eurostar ordered 30 of these double-decker trains. Six of them will start running in 2031 to current destinations, as well as Geneva and Frankfurt.
The trains are also designed to handle extreme heat. Europe had record-breaking heatwaves this summer. To prepare for hot weather in the future, the new trains will have air conditioning that works in temperatures up to 55°C.
Eurostar says these trains will stay in service for many years. They will run from 2031 into the 2060s.
