A large new rocket called Starship reached space for the first time. The rocket was built by SpaceX. It entered orbit, which is the path a spacecraft takes around Earth.
The rocket carried 26 next-generation Starlink V3 satellites into space. These satellites deliver internet to people on Earth. The flight was planned to last 10 hours, but SpaceX ended it early after 90 minutes. The rocket also suffered an unexpected engine shutdown mid-flight.
At the end of the mission, Starship came back down toward the Pacific Ocean. The rocket made a controlled landing, but it exploded in flames when it touched down on the water.
